LUMINEERS Demystified By Our O’Fallon LUMINEER Dentist
One of the most versatile cosmetic treatment options out there is the dental LUMINEER. With this unobtrusive cosmetic restoration, you can achieve a number of aesthetic results: a whiter smile, straighter looking teeth, and more. So how do these aesthetic restorations work? Our O’Fallon LUMINEER dentists are here to explain!
LUMINEERS are aesthetic restorations that are designed to be bonded to a patient’s natural dental structure. LUMINEERS are crafted to be exceptionally thin—thinner than a contact lens—so that they look and feel natural once in place. LUMINEERS are made from porcelain, and are customized in shape, size, and shade to suit the patient.
One of the most exciting attributes of LUMINEER treatment is that it can be completed quickly. Our dental team is generally able to complete the LUMINEER process in just two to three appointments. You’ll first come in for an assessment with our team—we’ll take a look at your smile and determine whether LUMINEERS can help you meet your dental goals.
Once we decide to move forward, you’ll come in for your first appointment, during which we will shape your relevant teeth if necessary, and take an impression of them. Because LUMINEERS are even thinner than traditional veneers, our team does not need to remove as much tooth structure in order to prep your tooth.
When your LUMINEERS are crafted and ready in our office, you’ll come in for another appointment. During this meeting, we’ll dry-fit your LUMINEERS to your teeth, in order to ensure a good fit. We’ll make any alterations that the restorations may require. Once everything is perfect, we will permanently bond the LUMINEERS to your natural dental surface.
Once treatment is complete, you’ll be able to jump back into your daily life right away. LUMINEERS allow you to eat your favorite foods and drink your favorite drinks—they are truly designed to fit into your life.
