Can Implant Smiles Work For You? Learn More From Our O’Fallon Dental Implant Dentists
Tooth loss is devastating for patients on so many levels: it affects the patient’s self-esteem, daily life, and long-term oral health. That is why our O’Fallon dental implant dentists provide a range of tooth replacement treatments; we believe that the restorative treatments we use need to be as customized as the individuals we treat.
Implant Smiles is all about replacing missing teeth with high-quality, attractive, and health-boosting replacement teeth. When you meet with our dentists, we’ll assess your smile, and help you build a treatment plan to move forward.
Individual dental implants: these stand-alone replacement teeth are grounded in the patient’s jawbone with small titanium roots. The titanium base replaces the tooth root; this is then capped with a natural-looking restoration, which is tailored to suit the patient’s appearance. Over time, the titanium root of the implant actually bonds with the patient’s existing bone tissue, helping to preserve healthy bone density.
Dentures and bridges: these prostheses replace multiple consecutive teeth. They are designed to sit on top of the patient’s gum tissue; dentures are held in place because the base of the denture is molded to fit the patient’s gum tissue, and bridges are attached to adjacent teeth.
Implant-stabilized prostheses: thanks to advances in restorative dentistry, our team is able to permanently anchor larger prostheses, like dentures and bridges, in the patient’s jawbone. Implant-stabilized dentures, for example, require only a few strategically placed titanium roots to hold the full denture in place. Once these replacement teeth are anchored in the jawbone tissue, they are not removable, and they are exceptionally straightforward to care for.
Some people are able to restore their smiles using one of these treatment options, while others combine solutions in order to achieve full results. Every treatment we utilize is customized to suit the individual patient’s needs and aesthetics.
